Pete Connolly, LMT
A licensed massage therapist (LMT) since 2001, I specialize in an integrated form of massage therapy that combines multiple techniques to meet my client’s needs. I work on muscles, as well as tendons, ligaments, organs, joints, bones, the brain and the nervous system – types of massage therapy I offer include Myofascial, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy, and Brain Therapy.
Qualifications
I graduated from the Brenneke School of Massage in 2001, by 2005 I was teaching massage both at Brenneke and the Cortiva Institute. I’ve continued my education through advanced training at both the Upledger Institute (in Craniosacral Therapy) and at the Barral Institute (in Visceral Manipulation). In 2016, I started working with Dr. Bruno Chikly and the Chikly Health Institute, where I’ve become certified in utilizing multiple techniques after over 250 hours of advanced therapeutic training in excellence.
My journey
While I initially began this work because of my own health journey; I quickly learned how powerful and profound massage therapy can be; the experience changed my life and defined my life’s work. I continue to be awed by the intelligence of the human body and its intuitive ability to respond and recover from injury and discomfort. It is a privilege to share this work with clients and to show them what their body can do.
Massage as modality of service
Health matters. Knowing your own body and finding the right people to support your journey toward health by offering excellent and effective care, is transformative. It enriches our lives by increasing movement and fluidity and adds renewed vibrancy to everyday living by decreasing unnecessary pain and discomfort. That’s why I do what I do.
My interest in massage therapy began while recovering from my own chronic illness – it involved being misdiagnosed with a parasite that lead to my immune system deteriorating; coupled with an unsatisfactory experience at leading medical institutions, I had had enough.
Traditional modalities weren’t meeting my needs so after some soul searching and research, it was time to try something different. My early ‘mid-life crisis’ found me engaging with yoga, meditation and massage therapy as I struggled with my health, identity and direction. I had no idea how powerful these modalities were or what a difference they, and the team of professionals that treated me, would make in my life. Not only did they help me get healthy, but they helped me find my passion as well.
Because of my own health experience, years later when I moved to the Seattle area, I decided it was past time to pursue massage therapy and the study of the body and pursue what I love.
I look forward to partnering with you on your health journey.
