The Journey is On

Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force in each of us is the greatest force in getting well.
— Hippocrates

Our bodies are naturally subject to injury, whether from being active, from accidents or due to stress; life takes a significant toll on our bodies both inside, and out. It is remarkable how our body can compensate daily for the toll it takes, while we simply live our lives. For the most part, we’re unaware of this process.

That is until tension, pain and pressure build in our bodies and over time, restrictions form and unhealthy holding patterns settle in replacing our natural fluidity.

The result? We begin to feel stiff and tight; our mobility is compromised, and we experience more pain.

By listening to our bodies, we can be guided to our own best healing. Recognizing areas that need tending and release, can come with ease once we explore the origin of our body’s pain. By doing so, we can address the pain at its root source and the other areas it manifests throughout the body. Not only do I treat my clients, I also educate them on how to listen to their body so they may be their own best healer.

I don’t believe that experiencing pain is required to return to health, ease and vitality. Bodywork that is grounded in science and guided by intuition is a powerful and effective blend of skills. Skilled bodywork releases built up stress in tissues which restores mobility, increases fluidity of movement, balances your body’s pressures and of course, reduces pain. Feeling better from within, will exponentially improve your overall health, mood, and outlook.

I practice a holistic approach to treating the body; while I’m well-versed in massaging muscles, bodies are made up of far more than just muscles. Organs, ligaments, bones, joints, tendons, the nervous system and brain can all be treated with varying types of massage therapy. In offering my clients a holistic approach to healing and massage, I can focus on whichever part of the body needs specific attention, including areas related, or adjacent to, the initial source of stress and/or pain.

The combination of my scientific training, natural instincts and intuition, and passion for healing help me tap into our inner health to restore overall vitality.

The road to improved health is a journey; I look forward to leading you to a place that eases your body’s pain, swelling, tightness and stress and returning it to its’ natural vitality and health for the long term.

Life is also a journey; one made infinitely easier if your health is up to the challenge.
